Option 1 - Forwarding
Product Summary
If you currently have a Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo or any other email address
but would like to personalise it a little then this is for you!
Pick your domain, then all emails sent to the domain of your choice will
automatically be forwarded to your existing email account. Your old
address will still work so there’s no need to update your email address
on any existing accounts you may have!

Designed for small business and home users who are looking for a
personalised email address that they can use in email programs such as
Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail.

Can I have multiple email addresses with my new domain?
You can! All email accounts come with unlimited amount of email forwards, so
you could forward, for example, 'dad@yourdomain.com' to your dad's email
account, and still have 'you@yourdomain.com' pointing to your email address.
For mailbox accounts you can have 5 separate mailboxes set to any email
address you like within your domain, but if this is not enough you can still
have unlimited amount of forwards.

What exactly is an 'email forwarder'?
In basic terms, an email forwarder acts like a
middle man for your final email provider.
Say for example you have your own Hotmail account, and the email address for
this account is sara_luvsbunnies1983@hotmail.co.uk
If you register 'luvsbunnies.com' as your new domain, you can now have the
email address of 'sarah@luvsbunnies.com'
Now, when anyone emails the address
'sarah@luvsbunnies.com', that email will automatically and instantly be
sent over to your Hotmail account for you to read.
That process is called forwarding, as all that is happening is the email is
being forwarded from one email address to another.

Will my old email address stop working if I sign up to an email forwarder?
Absolutely not! You're old email address will carry
on working as normal, so there is no need to update your email address with
any websites that you might currently be registered with.
An email forwarder is simply a second more personalised email address that
points to the same account, so it is up to you which email address you
ultimately use and where you use it.

How secure are email forwarders?
They are just as secure as using your own personal
email account! All email forwards are processed automatically and involve no
human intervention. The email itself that is forwarded is not stored on our
servers, it is simply received and instantly pointed to the email address
you specify.
Of course if this still concerns you, there is no reason why you cannot give
your proper Hotmail address to data sensitive companies such as banks, and
use your custom email address for just friends, but this is certainly not
necessary.

How much can I store with a mailbox account?
All our mailbox accounts come with 500mb of disk
space, which is shared amongst any individual mailboxes you may have under
your account.
Because our mailbox accounts are designed to be used with a mail program
like Windows Mail, Outlook or Outlook Express, you will actually find that
this amount is more than you would ever need and this is because every time
you check receive a new email it is downloaded and stored on your own PC.
This means you could potentionally have 100's of Gigs of emails, as long as
you had the disk space on your own PC.

Can I use my new email address with services such as Windows Live Messenger, or Xbox Live?
Yes you can! Once you have your email address simply
go over to
www.passport.net and sign
up under the section 'Use an email address you already have'.
Once you have finished there, you then have a Microsoft Passport account
which can be used for any of Microsoft's services which require you to log
in this way.
Please be aware that if you already have a Windows Live Messenger login, or
an Xbox Live login and then start using this new email address, Microsoft
will treat it as a completely new account. This means all your contacts and
Xbox game data will not transfer over, and will only work on your old email
address.

If I reach the mailbox size limit will I start to lose any emails sent to me?
As long as you download your email to a mail client
at least once a month it is very unlikely that this would ever happen. If
however it did, any new emails that get sent to you would be queued up and
delivered as soon as your mailbox has enough space again. There is a time
limit however on how long emails would be queued up, so it is recommended to
try and clear your mailbox by downloading its contents as soon as possible.
If in the worst case an email did not get delivered the sender of the email
would be informed.

If I
don't get that many emails would my account expire?
Absolutely not! As long as you are still a customer
of Vella Technology and have no payment issues your account will remain open
and working no matter how much you use it.

If I decide to upgrade to a hosting account or move to another provider, is this possible?
Yes, we want our customers to know that we always
strive to please our customers any way possible. If you decide that you
would like to start hosting a website with us then simply log into your
Vella.Web account and select upgrade. The process is completely automated so
you can start hosting websites instantly!
If however you would like to move your domain to another provider then just
send us a support ticket with the transfer details and we'll be more than
happy to help you out.
