It’s something that’s happened to us all. Our lovely computers are working fine for years, providing enjoyment and keeping the whole family entertained. Then suddenly it starts playing up, things don’t work like they used to, or worse still it breaks completely and won’t start!
It could be anything, from getting infected with a virus, or Windows might be going abnormally slow or throwing up loads of error messages.
The first thing that enters our mind is “great, now I’ll have to get it fixed”. You’ll then start going through names of friends and family that might have a bit of technical knowledge in the hope they can help you out.
Sometimes you’ll get lucky, there will be someone that takes a look and manages to get it working again. It might not get done in the most elegant way, but it seems to work and that will be all that matters.
